The Hotel was bought from the MacDonald Hotel group on the 7th July 2020 by Loch Rannoch Estate Limited and given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, it was an obvious decision to remain closed and undertake a major renovation with work starting in September 2020.
Using award-winning Glasgow based designers Bell & Swift, the new vision for the Hotel quickly came to life. The re-design was influenced by the Hotel’s heritage and took inspiration from the heyday of Victorian travel when the Steamship Gitana sailed Loch Rannoch.
Enhancing many of the traditional features and characters included reinstating the original fire- places and pairing Victorian-inspired fittings with a modern twist throughout the Hotel.
Renovation works have since finished with the Hotel’s re-opening in May 2021. Each of the 52 guest bedrooms and suites have been fully refurbished with modern, quirky features influenced by the Hotel’s majestic location.
Our restaurants and bars have been given a complete re-branding with exciting new menus in a warm and welcoming environment.
Launched in September 2021, the Rannoch Spa is an exciting extension to the swimming pool complex. The three new luxurious therapy rooms and the relaxation suite feature world-renowned ESPA treatments. The spa facilities include an indoor heated pool, steam room and sauna.
In December 2021, the new MATRIX fitness suite opened at the renovated Marina. With state-of-the-art gym equipment and offering incredible views across Loch Rannoch, it has been an exciting new addition.
Loch Rannoch School of Adventure at the Marina provides guests with opportunities to experience aspirational outdoor activities including climbing, wild swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, walking, mountain biking and fly-fishing.
There are many more exciting plans in the pipeline for Loch Rannoch Hotel, with the aim to restore the resort as a legendary Scottish destination for many years to come.
