Loch Rannoch brown trout are generally around three-quarters to one pound but it is known for its large ferox trout weighing up to 12lbs. Arctic Char, Perch and Pike are also occasionally caught on Loch Rannoch. Trout & Salmon magazine recently described it as “inarguably one of the most beautiful lochs in all the land”.
A permit is required to fish at Loch Rannoch. This can be obtained from the Country Store in Kinloch Rannoch, the Loch Rannoch Conservation Association or online. Prices are £8 per day, £30 for the week or £60 for a season. Speak to our team at Reception for more details and information.
